Tramping the two thousand-year-old Via Augusta. In December 1640 the old Roman military road provided the attack route for royalist troops aiming for Barcelona and suppression of the Catalan rebellion against the Spanish King. The first blood was spilled here at the Coll de les Forques near the town of El Perelló in southern Catalonia. The rest is history.
